Transtar FCU Account Migration
On Saturday, January 31st, all Transtar Federal Credit Union accounts, services and financial records will be migrated over to MemberSource Credit Union. This will officially complete the merger process for the two credit unions that took place on April 1, 2025. As a former Transtar FCU member, you will experience some changes to the way you currently manage your account. The purpose of this piece is to clearly and effectively communicate what changes to expect, and to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible for you. If at any point you have questions, please contact us at 713.627.4000 or web.msc@membersourcecu.org. We are here to help and guide you. Some information was included in the newsletter in your December 2025 account statement. Additionally, emails have been sent highlighting new products and services for which you are eligible after the migration date.
Before the Migration - Get Prepared
Read through this informational piece for details you will need to know and how this migration will affect you.
Know what you need to do ahead of time such as save copies of your account statements, look for your new debit card and make changes to automatic debits, or make note of bill payment information.
Make any loan payments prior to January 31st to ensure proper credit is given.
Download the free MemberSource CU mobile app from the App Store or Google Play.
Be sure your address, phone number and email address are current to ensure you receive information.
Before the Migration - Debit Card Transition
Your new MemberSource CU debit card will be sent to your address on file. You will not need to activate this card as that will be done for you at the appropriate time. Instructions will be included on how to set your PIN.
Your TFCU debit card will no longer work as of January 31st. If you have any recurring debits such as streaming subscription payments or toll tag replenishments, or have your card attached to apps such as Venmo or games, be sure to update your card information using your new MSCU debit card number.
Review your account transactions now to ensure you don’t miss updating your payment options.
Before the Migration - Bill Payment
Online Bill Pay will be unavailable during the migration period. All payments previously scheduled for these dates will process normally. You will not be able to add, delete or make edits until after February 2nd. All of your payees and payments will need to be added in MemberSource CU’s bill pay after you enroll in MSCU online banking.
During the Migration - What to Expect
TFCU online banking, mobile banking, e-statements and bill pay access will no longer be accessible as of January 31st. Information is included in this document on how to enroll with your new account information.
Your TFCU debit card will no longer be valid. Your new MemberSource CU debit card is being mailed to you with an insert that gave instructions regarding activation and setting your PIN.
After the Migration - Your Account Number
Your member number will change slightly after migration. Simply take your existing member number and add 90 in front and a 0 at the end. For example: If your Transtar member number is 123450, your new MSCU member number will be 901234500. Your sub-account numbers for your savings or checking accounts will remain the same.
After the Migration - Enrolling in Online Banking Services
TFCU online banking, mobile banking, e-statements and bill pay access will no longer be accessible as of January 31st. Account access through transtarfcu.org will also no longer be available.
Beginning February 2nd, members may begin enrolling in MemberSource CU’s online and mobile banking. The app will allow you to have a similar visual experience whether you’re using a phone, tablet or laptop. You’ll enjoy the convenience and various “self-service” functions now available.

Signing up for eStatements:
Once you’ve enrolled in online banking, click on the eStatements tab and choose “I’d like to receive eStatements.” You’ll receive your eStatements and any daily notices and tax notices electronically after signing up. While your Transtar eStatements will no longer be available, you will be able to see your new MSCU statements and will build up to view up to 12 months worth of history.
As a thank you for enrolling in MSCU’s bill pay program, we will send you a $25 Amazon gift card just for the effort of entering your payees into bill pay. Once enrollment is confirmed, we will send the gift card to your address on file.
After the Migration - Credit Cards
Your credit card information will not change at this time. Your credit card will continue to work as it does now with no interruption and you will continue to make your payment to the same address as you do currently.
If you need a replacement credit card, call MemberSource CU at 713.627.4000
After the Migration - Checking Accounts
If you currently have checks for your Transtar account, you will be able to continue using your current supply and they should clear your new MemberSource CU account as usual. However, any new check orders will come through MSCU’s check provider.
Your direct deposits such as payroll, Social Security or other automatic recurring deposits will still come in as they do now. You do not need to make any changes.
If you have automatic payments or deductions automatically debited from your checking account, those may remain the same, too.
After the Migration - Making Loan Payments
Your rate, term, payment amount and due date will not change. The address where your loan payments are sent should be changed to: MemberSource CU, 10100 Richmond Ave, Houston TX 77042. Be sure to include your new member number and loan number to ensure proper credit is given.
Electronic payment options are available at MemberSource. For a list and details, go to membersourcecu.org and click on the green Make a Payment icon.
As stated previously, credit card payments will continue to be made to the address you currently have on your credit card statement.
Shared Branching Services
MemberSource CU, like Transtar FCU, is part of the Shared Branching network, so that service will continue to be available to you. During the migration period, however, Shared Branching services will not be available beginning at approximately 3pm Friday, January 30th to potentially Monday, February 2nd at 1:00 pm. Please plan accordingly if you utilize Shared Branching services regularly.
Helpful Info:
Before January 31st, be sure to print any statements and make a list of your bill pay payees, addresses and due dates so you can easily enter them into MSCU’s bill pay system.
Also, look for your new MSCU debit card in the mail, and make any changes to auto debits on your card.
During the migration, we will be closed on Saturday, January 31st and will reopen Monday February 2nd at 1:00 pm.
